To study and measure the thermal expansion of a metal rod by using a pyrometric method and deduce the coefficient of linear expansion based on angular displacement. Comprising of an arrangement mounted on wooden base with levelling feet with support rods. One end fixed and the other end is adjustable with a micrometre screw. To observe the rods’ expansion, a 20-0-20 scale is provided. For ease of reading, the counterweighted needle is used. Zero adjustment is made possible by a knurling screw.
