HEAD LOUSE
Description
AESICO Head Louse Model is a detailed representation of Pediculus humanus capitis, designed specifically for teaching and demonstration in biology and parasitology studies. The model accurately illustrates the external morphology and structural adaptations of the head louse, a common ectoparasite that infests human hair and feeds on blood. This model highlights key anatomical features including the segmented body (head, thorax, and abdomen), six clawed legs adapted for grasping hair shafts, antennae, and piercing-sucking mouthparts used for feeding. The abdomen is shown in a distinct segmented pattern, illustrating the characteristic shape and expansion that occurs after feeding. Constructed from durable, unbreakable fiber material, the model is mounted on a sturdy base for classroom display and long-lasting use. The hand-painted surface provides realistic coloration, enhancing the visibility of key structures.
