To compare the thermal conductivity of different metals by observing the melting rate of wax on metal rods. Consists of a metal tank with six openings on one side that measure 150 x 90 x 100 mm LxBxH. These openings allow 100 x 3 mm length x diameter metal rods made of copper, brass, aluminium, steel, zinc, and lead to pass through. There is a cavity at each rod’s outer end. The various metals melt the paraffin at varying rates when the low melting point paraffin wax is placed in the cavity.
