The precision of the measurement of the produced expansion, which is provided by a dial gauge indicator that graduated by 0.01 mm per division, is critical to the accuracy of the determination of the rod’s material’s coefficient of linear expansion. ideal for students in higher grades. The expansion rod is heated by a steam inlet into a metal tube that houses it. For measurement, it does not require any electrical terminals or accessories. The apparatus has four expansion rods and comes fully assembled. (One each of aluminium, copper, brass, and steel.)
Operating Principle: (NOT MEANT FOR CATALOGUE)
When the metal rod is heated through steam or hot water, it expands. The change in length is transmitted to the dial gauge or micrometre, allowing precise measurement of expansion.
