To demonstrate atmospheric pressure and the force it exerts on objects by creating a vacuum between two hemispheres. Made of brass 75mm diameter, fitted with stopcock and handles. Stopcock is connected in one hemisphere to connect to vacuum pump. One handle can be unscrewed and complete sphere can be connected to vaccum pump.
Working Principle:
Air is evacuated from the sealed cavity between the two hemispheres.
Atmospheric pressure on the outer surfaces holds the hemispheres tightly together.
Demonstrates how air pressure acts in all directions and its significant magnitude.
