Consisting of six equal rods made of copper, steel, lead, brass, zinc, and aluminium, each 130 x 3 mm in diameter, which are mounted in corks and have their lower ends in a tank that is 210 x 75 x 75 mm. The tank is held up by four legs that are about 170 millimetres above the bench. The rates of melting are compared after the rods have been lightly coated with paraffin wax prior to use.
How to Use: (NOT MEANT FOR CATALOGUE)
Fill the box with hot water or steam.
Observe which wax melts first, indicating the highest thermal conductivity.
Ideal for demonstrating the principle of thermal conductivity in solids.
