This educational set features two highly detailed and accurate models mounted on a single base, offering a comprehensive study of Paramecium. The main model, enlarged approximately 1600?, provides an overall view of the organism and is mounted on a stand for easy group observation. It is longitudinally sectioned, with one half removable to reveal internal structures such as macro- and micronuclei, contractile vacuole, membranelles, myonemes, neuroneme network, food vacuoles, and the differentiation of endoplasm and ectoplasm. The second model represents the pellicle, magnified about 6500?, giving a close-up view of trichocysts and the ciliary bending motion that demonstrates the metachronal wave. The pellicle is fixed directly to the base, while the paramecium model is elevated on a stand. Both models are clearly numbered and supplied with an English key card for easy identification of all parts.
